Planned to be launched at the Geneva Auto Show in the year 2009, the BMW Alpina B6 GT3 has the exterior design of a supercharged coupe that is intended to be on the race tracks and not on the show circuits. Basically, the car was designed to give competition to the FIA GT3 European Championship series and the carhas so much importance attached to it because it is the first FIA GT3 racer from Alpina in the last 2 decades.
The car has been based on the BMW 6 series and has been fitted with supercharged 4.4 liters V8 engine that is able to produce torque of 530PS and 725NM. The 18 inches Michelin wheels receive this power via the 6-speed sequential gear box. The car is able to achieve a speed of 0-100 km/h in only around 3.9 seconds, mainly because of its light weight. It has a record top speed of 285 km per hour. Further details will be released at the Geneva Auto Show when it will be officially released. The price of the car has not been announced as yet.
This is a mid-size premium car available with the exteriors of a wagon or a sedan. Depending upon the model you select, you get a real wheel drive or xDrive all-wheel drive. The first car that comes in the series is the 528i which is a sedan with all wheel or rear drive. Other cars that are part of the series are 535i wagon which is all wheel drive and sedan which is both rear and all wheel drive. The top end models of the series are M5 and 550i sedans. All 528, 535 and 550i versions have 6 speed manual transmission systems while the M5 has manual transmission system that can be made to shift like the automatic.
2010 BMW M5 is a real treat for enthusiastic drivers who need cutting edge technology and high performance within the legal speed limits. The M5 has been powered by 500 hp V10 engine having the capacity of 0-60 mph in less than 5 seconds.
