There are various companies that provide insurance schemes for the cars. But do not get carried away by the brand name of the insurance company or by the premium amount it offers. There are various other important things as well which you should check carefully.

The first thing you should check is the coverage of the insurance policy, whether it is from bumper to bumper or it is aimed at some particular damages of the car. Undoubtedly the former type of policy is the preferable one as you don’t have to worry whenever you get a damage on your car.

Also cashless insurance is another important thing you should ensure so that you have to pay a very minimal amount during repair. Without cashless insurance you will have to bear the complete cost of the car repair and then you will have to make a claim to insurance company for the insured amount.

March 1st, 2013 by cooldude

Vintage Cars, car careIf you are the proud owner of a vintage car then one of the biggest nightmares which you must face is rusting. Rusting is a common natural process where metals get oxidized due to exposure to air and vintage cars are no exceptions. The solution is to know the right method of cleaning and getting rid of the rust from the car in a way which can restore the beauty and authenticity of your beloved vintage car. First of all you must protect the areas which do not need restoration. Never cover them with newspapers. Instead go for masking paper.

You should also surround the working areas with tarp sealed with painter’s tape. You should then start working on the rusted parts of the vintage car with a DA dual sander of an “80 to 150” grit. If the rust is thicker in some areas, gently use the metal grinding portion system of the DA dual sander. You should keep your color spray and metal primer ready. After you’re done taking out the rust from your vintage car, dust off the residue parties and wipe with a clean rag. Then use the paint color spray and primer & let it finish drying before you get to take out the masking papers.

Roof Racks for cars, install roof racksInstalling roof racks on your car can be very advantageous. When you travel, you don’t have to compromise seating space to load up your travel equipment and baggage. You just have to use the rack on top and you’ll be ready to go. Also you can tie your sporting (like golf) equipment when you go to play and save interior space for people. To enjoy all these facilities, you can install your car roof rack yourself. But you have to be careful not to damage the roof paint.

First of all, wash your car and let it dry completely. Use car wax and buff to shine the car to prepare it well for the installation. This will also make the roof even. Then using the right tools, install your rack. After you are done, you need to place vinyl strips and place them at the base of the rack so that cleaning dust is easy for you from time to time.
